Look to reward students with feathers for being mindful, responsible, respectful, and having integrity.
Please don't write on the feathers. They are recirculated after counting every Friday. Email House feather counts to Mrs. Sanchez. Integrate random questioning with 3x5 cards, popsicle sticks, or digitally. Establish Redirectional/Quiet Signal. Actively teach from bell to bell. Active supervision is a must. Please do not release students until 3:45 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 1:45 PM on Wednesday. Check your email at least twice a day and read the weekly BBEA News.
K-4th Students Restroom Sign-In/Out and Passes: Thank you to everyone who has your restroom sign-in/out sheet in a visible location for students, and thank you to those using restroom passes or passes to other areas on campus. If you are not currently using either system, please implement immediately.
5th-8th Students are allotted one restroom break prior to lunch and after lunch. Please call administration if there is an instance outside of these guidelines.
Dismissal: A quick reminder about dismissal procedures: Please make sure your students are lined up, calm, and using voices that are quiet enough to hear directions. Do not leave the building until your group is fully ready and remain with the students you are supervising until they have safely reached their final dismissal point and have all left that location. Please also ensure that no line is ever left unattended while students are moving through the building. Thank you for helping keep dismissal safe and organized.
Ashlock (K-5 Teachers): Continue to follow the Ashlock routines for the practice sets and priority plans. Parent-Teacher Conferences: Remember to have parents sign in and return those to the office after you have completed all of your conferences. K-3 Teachers, you will also have MOWR letters to share during conferences and a separate sign in sheet. Classroom Management Tip of the Week - Before Spring Break: Tighten routines and keep students actively engaged; short, structured tasks with clear time limits help prevent pre-break energy from turning into off-task behavior. Maintain consistent expectations and positively reinforce students who stay focused and follow procedures. |

BBEA Staff Spotlight: Crossing Guard/Cafeteria Monitor Xochitl Rodriguez At Bernard Black Entrepreneurial Academy (BBEA), excellence is not only demonstrated in classrooms — it is modeled in every corner of our campus. Today, we proudly shine the spotlight on Xochiti Rodriguez, our dedicated Crossing Guard and Cafeteria Monitor.
Ms. Rodriguez is often the first smiling face our scholars see in the morning and one of the last caring adults they encounter in the afternoon. Rain or shine, she ensures our students arrive and depart safely, setting the tone for a secure and welcoming school environment. Safety is not just a responsibility for her — it is a commitment.
Inside the cafeteria, she continues that same standard of care and consistency. She helps maintain structure, encourages respectful behavior, and builds positive relationships with our scholars. Her presence reinforces our BBEA expectations and supports our culture of order, joy, and accountability.
At BBEA, we believe every role matters. Every adult contributes to our mission of developing future entrepreneurs and leaders. Ms. Rodriguez exemplifies reliability, professionalism, and heart. She serves with quiet strength and steady dedication — and our school community is stronger because of her. Please join me in celebrating Ms. Xochiti Rodriguez for her unwavering commitment to our scholars and to the BBEA family. One Team. All Winners. 💛🖤 |

IXL School-wide Academic Initiative "Give Me 30" |
BBEA is participating in a school-wide academic initiative, “Give Me 30”, designed to strengthen student skills in Math and English Language Arts as we prepare for upcoming state testing. This principal-led, student-driven effort uses IXL Learning to promote consistent practice, academic growth, and mastery of essential standards. Students are encouraged to spend 30 minutes a day engaging with IXL learning to build confidence and sharpen the skills they need to succeed. We ask our parents and guardians to partner with us by:
Encouraging your child to use IXL Learning regularly at home. Celebrating their progress and growth. Reinforcing the importance of effort, persistence, and practice.
Together, when school and family work as one, we can accelerate learning and help every student reach their full potential. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work to ensure success for all BBEA students. All students have been provided with program login credentials. If you have any questions or experience any login issues, please contact BBEA’s Front Office for assistance. |
