goals

📊 Our Kennedy Schoolwide Goals 📊

At Kennedy, we believe in setting high expectations for learning and working together to help every scholar succeed. This year, our goals are:

  • 📚 Reading & Math: Strive for at-least 45% proficiency in both Reading and Math by the end of the school year.

  • English Language Learners
At least 15% of Kennedy’s English Language Learners will be reclassified as fully proficient in English as measured by the AZELLA assessment,

With your partnership at home and our dedication at school, we know our scholars can rise to the challenge! Together, we can make it happen. 💙

School Wide Progress Monitoring Data #3

📊 Understanding Progress Monitoring

At Kennedy, we regularly check in on student learning through progress monitoring—this helps us track how students are growing throughout the year.

🧠 What does this mean?

✔️ We monitor what your child is learning
✔️ We track growth in reading and math
✔️ We provide extra support when needed

📈 Why it matters

Progress monitoring helps us:
✨ Catch learning gaps early
✨ Adjust instruction to meet student needs
✨ Support continuous growth for every student

🤝 How families can help

📖 Read with your child daily
➕ Practice math skills at home
💬 Ask your child about their learning

IXL Challenge

IXL is an online learning program that helps students practice important math and reading skills. Just 30 minutes of practice a day can help strengthen the skills students are learning in class.

Students received their IXL QR login codes during Parent-Teacher Conferences. If you are in need of another QR code please reach out to your childs teacher. Families can simply scan the QR code with a phone or tablet to sign in and begin practicing.

The class with the most skills completed and minutes logged will win a prize!!

Let’s keep our learning strong over beyond school hours, Kennedy! 🌟

Our 3rd grade scholars are currently taking the Arizona Academic Standards Assessment (AASA).

The AASA is the statewide achievement test for Arizona public school students in Grades 3–8, measuring progress in English Language Arts and Mathematics. At Kennedy, our 3rd grade students are the only scholars participating in this assessment.

This test is very important because 3rd grade students must demonstrate reading proficiency on the AASA in order to be promoted to 4th grade, as required by Arizona law.

📝 How Families Can Help Students Be Successful

You can help your scholar do their best by ensuring they:

✔ Attend school every day during testing
✔ Get a good night’s sleep the night before
✔ Eat breakfast
✔ Arrive at school on time and ready to learn
✔ Encourage them to do their best and stay confident

Our teachers and staff have been working hard all year preparing students, and we know our Kennedy Colts are ready to shine!

📅 Testing Schedule

Please review the testing schedule below and make every effort to have your child present and on time on these days.

Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our scholars. Together, we will help our students succeed!
