How to Support Student Learning at Home
Click on Education Support to access K–5 math and reading materials you can use at home. We’ll also be hosting a Math Workshop with the publishing company that provides our K–5 math curriculum on Thursday, November 20th, at 9:30 a.m. at Valley View School.
Family Literacy at Home: Video Series in English and Spanish
Literacy at Home
Key early literacy skills include phonological awareness—the ability to hear and play with sounds in language. Parents and caregivers can support these skills by reading aloud daily, playing games with letter sounds, pointing out letters and words in the environment, and encouraging early writing.
Parent -Teacher Conferences
Parents and caregivers can prepare for parent-teacher conferences by talking to their child beforehand, creating a list of questions, and discussing goals for the year.
